Ctrl, the new non-custodial wallet rebranded from XDEFI, aims to simplify the onboarding process for millions of users looking to access web3 and start their on-chain journey. With over 90% of cryptocurrency users not yet on-chain, Ctrl seeks to revolutionize the user experience provided by non-custodial wallets by giving users the ability to explore DeFi and web3 opportunities with ease.

Emile Dubié, the CEO of XDEFI, believes in the fundamental right of self-custody and the importance of providing accessible and secure wallet solutions for everyone. Ctrl, with its next-generation wallet set to be the premier tool for onboarding new users, focuses on making self-sovereignty over financial assets a seamless experience, regardless of users’ knowledge about crypto. With more than a year spent on building a user-friendly experience on top of technical advantages, Ctrl aims to rival popular apps like Revolut in terms of intuitiveness.

The Ctrl wallet leverages web2 features to address current web3 pain points, offering a smooth onboarding process and improved user experience by abstracting the need to pay for gas on every chain. With compatibility for 1,800 networks integrated into the Ctrl wallet, users can easily engage on-chain securely and explore economic opportunities across a wide range of blockchains without the need to manage multiple gas tokens or save seed phrases. By enabling social login through Google or social media, Ctrl further streamlines the user authentication process.

The beta release of the Ctrl wallet is set for August, giving early users a chance to test its robust features. Interested individuals can register on Ctrl.xyz to join the mobile beta waiting list. Upon release, both new users installing XDEFI and current XDEFI wallet users will have their wallet automatically updated to Ctrl, with the $XDEFI token eventually converting to $CTRL on a 1:1 basis. This move marks a significant advancement in the usability of web3 wallets, providing users with a universal solution for managing digital assets and accessing DeFi and web3 services across multiple chains.

The design of non-custodial wallets has remained relatively unchanged since 2015, but Ctrl represents a significant step forward in enhancing user experience and accessibility in the world of web3. By offering a user-friendly interface and support for a wide range of blockchains, Ctrl not only caters to current users seeking a comprehensive wallet solution but also opens up opportunities for millions of new users to enter the web3 space. With its focus on self-custody and intuitive design, Ctrl is poised to become a leading platform for onboarding users into the world of decentralized finance and web3 technologies.
